How did you get started in the events industry?
A recruiter would not stop calling me about an opportunity to work for an event technology company. He finally had someone from the company call me and they sold me on taking the interview. I joined Lanyon and never looked back.
What was it like over the past 2 years during covid for you personally and professionally?
It made me take a hard look at my priorities. I was working 80 hours a week and traveling all the time, I realized I was exhausted and missing my kids growing up. I began to stop sweating the small things and really focusing on what is important, i’m happier, my family is happier, my clients are happier.
What did you learn about yourself and the industry?
We are survivors, when our backs are against the wall we will come together, get creative, and roll with it. We all need to give each other a little grace and compassion, things don't always work out but it is how we respond when things go sideways that defines us.
What would you do if you were NOT in the events industry?
If money were not a concern, I would start a charity to help people with limited means navigate the healthcare system and get access to the services they need. I would then just be a wife and a mom and be there for every single moment
What do you do in your spare time?
We love to watch movies, do crafts (Diamond painting), travel. We are cruise people, I love the idea of being able to unpack and the ship takes me to see the world.
